OVERVIEW

AON3D is a 3D printer company specializing in manufacturing large 3D printers and developing the accompanying software. In 2021, AON3D began developing a 3D printer management platform designed to help engineers manage 3D printers and projects more efficiently. This platform aims to enhance decision-making through data, ensuring high-quality objects are printed on time

Responsible for research, lead design, user testing, Information architecture and delivery of key functional areas.

Problem Statement

AON3D faces challenges with high print failure rates and long printing times for high-quality objects. This is especially true when engineers print highly precise jobs over long periods of time.

Current Situation

I also did on-site research by working alongside these users. After this research, I synthesized my findings into a journey map for these users. It was easy to visualize the problem areas and opportunities in their workflow.

Conceptualization

I started to create low-fidelity designs mockups based on information architecture for primary use cases.

The Solution

In product documentation system makes it easy to communicate and collaborate anywhere to produce high-quality objects in a short period of time.

Create revisions

Once a project begins, managers can effortlessly share information and assign tasks to engineers all in one place.

Toolbox

Engineers can use the toolbox to upload files and videos, and use text functions to  create a visual hierarchy for improving readability.

Colour indicators

Quickly and easily find the best solution with Revision status. It helps you identify the optimal solution and understand the printing process using color indicators.

Publish

Revisions are automatically saved but not shared until engineers publish them when they are confident.

Direct and productive communication

Engineers can communicate and suggest solutions through the comments feature. Useful comments can be highlighted and reflected in performance.

We tested it with our internal team and got a lot of feedback. As a result, overall we were able to successfully complete the project with good reviews from them.
